The Learning Hub doors are now open as a new space for staff to meet, plan and develop classroom practice.
The space can be booked via the Frog room booking system, and could be used for:
- Initial Teacher Training or NQT mentor meetings;
- Small CPD sessions;
- Department meetings;
- Triad reflections and planning;
- Collaborative planning;
- Informal discussions about teaching and learning;
- General planning or marking.
In the room there is access to a desktop and projector; a large whiteboard for planning ideas; suggestions of educational accounts to follow on Twitter as well as suggested reading that has been mentioned at INSET over the last 18 months or so.
The room is resourced with stationery to support planning; this can be found under the teacher desk in an orange box file. Laptops can be borrowed from the ICT rooms nearby.
You might have seen some pedagogy guides during the INSET sessions last week that walk you through some practical class room strategies. These are being developed for the Rosenshine strands to support development in these areas, but there are also plans to expand these over the coming months.
If you’d like to see strategies in a particular teaching area, or have any suggestions of what could be most useful, please get in touch. Similarly, if you’d like to be part of the development team for these resources we’d love to hear from you! Just email Sam Martin (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Chris Ellison (email@example.com)
